Sharing my thoughts about our recent dining experience at Hawker Chan.
A few months ago, we had the opportunity to eat at Hawker Chan in One
Ayala, Makati. Now, it’s one of the restaurants that I truly wanted to try
because I was intrigued by its moniker “The Cheapest Michelin-starred Meal
in the World.” Restaurants are awarded a Michelin Star for having
top-quality ingredients with distinct flavors that are prepared consistently
at all times. Although most people will think that only fine-dining or
first-rate restaurants earn a Michelin Star, that’s not the case because any
restaurant can earn a Michelin Star regardless of the price point or style
of service. Just the same, most high-end restaurants earn a Michelin Star
because they can afford to maintain the quality of their food through
top-notch ingredients. Having said that, getting a Michelin Star says a lot
about Hawker Chan.

Hawker Chan Restaurant Review [With Menu & Branches]
Our experience at Hawker Chan
In terms of the ambiance, Hawker Chan is similar to any other Asian fast-food
restaurant. What I do like about Hawker Chan is its efficient queue making
ordering and payment a breeze. We also didn’t wait long to be seated even if
we went there during peak hours. Overall, the interiors of Hawker Chan are
simple and almost bare except for some posters on the wall. Dining is casual
and laid-back.
What we ordered
I ordered the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup and Mommy Khris ordered the Seafood
Laksa Bowl. Since we were dining as a group, we also ordered a plate of fried
dumplings to share. Condiments are also available on the table if you want to
make a dip or just want to add more spice to your food.
Seafood Laksa |
The Beef Brisket Noodle soup is hearty and delicious. The noodles are firm
while the soup is warm and flavorful. It’s the perfect treat for cold or rainy
day weather, or if you’re simply feeling blue.
I also tasted Mommy Khris’ seafood laksa bowl and it was rich and flavorful.
While it was good, I thought it was too rich for my palate.
Fried Dumplings |
For drinks, we ordered calamansi barley. I thought it would taste too
plant-like but I was surprised because it was refreshing. It was a good way to
get your extra dose of greens for the day.
Hawker Chan Menu
Hawker Chan’s menu is composed of the following:

These can be a combination of rice, fragrant chicken rice, noodles, or
