In this post, I answer the question, Who owns Burger Machine?, and provide some important information about this well-loved local burger joint.
Burger Machine is perhaps one of the most popular burger joints in the
Philippines because of its delicious and affordable hamburgers. It's
ubiquitous (well, almost) plus it operates 24/7, which makes Burger Machine
all the more appealing to the masses. A question that bugged me for years
though is about the ownership of Burger Machine -- who really owns Burger
Machine? For a time, I thought it was owned by 711 or Philippine Seven
Corporation. Apparently, it's not. According to Wikipedia, Burger Machine is
owned by Burger Machine Holdings, a sub-company of the local business entity
Gilmore Food Corporation.

How did Burger Machine start?
Still, according to Wikipedia,
Burger Machine
was established in the year 1981 and grew to more than 1,000 branches all over
the Philippines over the years. I first knew Burger Machine when it opened a
branch in my town, San Antonio (Nueva Ecija), in the early to mid-1990s. It
instantly became a popular hangout joint for students after class or for
townsfolks doing their market errands or after attending the Sunday Mass.
I personally loved the Jumbo Burger - it's delicious and filling. I also loved
the Bulilit Burger, hamburger sliders, that became extremely popular for a
time when I was in High School. Eventually, Burger Machine introduced their
buy 1 take 1 promo, which eventually became a permanent offering. Burger
Machine's menu soon expanded to include desserts like the sans rival, which is
the perfect ending to an indulgent meal. Today, Burger Machine remains a
household name and is still a favorite among many Filipinos.
