Our Sumptuous Family Lunch at Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery in SM City Fairview

Sharing our experience when we had our family lunch at Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery.
Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery offers a good selection of pasta
dishes, European food, and American cuisine that’s perfect for the whole
family. We had the chance to eat at Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery on
one of our weekend visits to SM City Fairview and I must say that we had
quite an enjoyable dining experience here.

The ambiance at Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery
Caprice is one of the newly opened restaurants in SM City Fairview. It has
well-designed interiors, although the place itself is not too big. Just the
same, it doesn’t feel cramped, and the seats are comfortable.

It was also well-lighted which all the more made Caprice look vibrant and
cheerful. Overall, the vibe of Caprice is inviting. Plus, we also wanted to
try the steak which had a pocket-friendly option.
What we ordered at Caprice
When we had settled in our table, we scanned the menu which we found to
contain many options beyond Italian cuisine. We ordered Pomelo & Shrimp
Salad (P450), Fish & Chips (P495), Seafood Aglio Olio Pasta (P750), T-Bone
Steak (P395), and Homestyle Chicken & Waffles (P450) for the kids.
Seafood Aglio Olio Pasta |
We absolutely loved the refreshing taste and savory flavors of the Pomelo and
Shrimp Salad. The vegetables are crunchy, and the shrimp are plump; it was a
great way to start our meal. I also liked how moist and tasty the Fish &
Chips were, you can enjoy them even without the dip. This instantly became my
favorite; I actually wanted more after we finished the plate.
Pomelo & Shrimp Salad |
Meanwhile, the Seafood Aglio Olio Pasta has generous toppings of mussels,
shrimp, and squid rings. However, I was a little disappointed with it because
I found it a bit dry. Aglio Olio is one of my top choices in pasta dishes
because I love the simplicity of the flavors infused into the oil. However,
Caprice’s Aglio Olio pasta is begging for a little more olive oil to bring out
all the flavors.
Fish & Chips |
As for the T-Bone Steak, well, you get what you pay for because it’s as thin
as a blade. The redeeming factor is that the meat is fresh and tastes quite
good, unlike cheap sizzling steak meals offered by other restaurants that
tasted like they were days old.
Chicken & Waffles |
A big thumbs up also goes to the Homestyle Chicken & Waffles because the
kids loved the fried chicken. The skin is crunchy, and the meat is cooked
throughout. What matters to us the most whenever we eat outside is if our kids
enjoy their food, which is what they did because they finished each of their
fried chicken.
Caprice Italian Kitchen & Bakery Menu
Caprice’s menu changes every so often, but it’s divided into these main
categories: Appetizers, All Day Breakfast, Soups, Salads, Main Course, Pasta,
Pizza, Sandwiches, Filipino Favorites, Dessert, Drinks, Wine, and Beer.
T-Bone Steak |
For Appetizers, customers can order calamares, tomato bruschetta, bread
basket, potato fries, and shrimp pescatore to name a few.
For All Day Breakfast, there are pancakes, waffles, French toast, omelet, and
sausage.
For soups, there are pumpkin and mushroom soups, and for salads, there’s
Classic Caesar, Pomelo and Shrimp, Kani Mango, and Cranberry Salads.
For the main course, diners have a choice between pork, beef, fish, and
chicken dishes. On the other hand, some of the pasta dishes offered by Caprice
are Seafood Al Nero, Aglio Olio, Linguine Ala Putanesca, Truffle and Cream,
and Fettucine Alfredo, to name a few.
If you want to cap your meal with something sweet, you can have a halo-halo or
a slice of cake.
Our verdict
All in all, Caprice offers delicious food that the whole family can enjoy. The
service was fast and efficient, and the restaurant staff checked on the diners
from time to time to see if there was anything that they needed. I found the
food a little pricey though, which might be a dealbreaker for some people.
However, give Caprice a try if you are looking for a new restaurant to check
out while in SM City Fairview.
