These cards function like regular cards that can be used for payments in
various retail and transport services, such as in LRT and MRT train stations,
point-to-point buses, city and provincial buses, as well as select Lawson and
Uncle John convenience stores.
Meanwhile, customers may buy the regular beep™ cards at LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3
stations, select convenience stores, and online via official Shopee, Lazada,
and Facebook Marketplace stores.
Beyond facilitating fare payments in the elevated rail lines, select bus
lines, P2P buses, and modern jeepneys, beep™ cards can be used to pay for
products at partner retail merchants nationwide.
What can consumers expect from the National Museum beep™ cards?
The National Museum beep™ cards feature an eye-catching design that showcases
the following four iconic National Museum structures across the country:
- The National Museum of Fine Arts
- The National Museum of Anthropology
- The National Museum of Natural History
- The National Museum of the Philippines – Cebu
The cards feature exhibits from renowned artists of the country, namely:
- Lualhati sculpture by National Artist Guillermo Tolentino
- The Manunggul Jar, a National Cultural Treasure
- Lolong, Guinness World Record for largest salt crocodile in captivity
- The Cebu flowerpecker, a critically endangered species endemic to Cebu Island and once thought to be extinct
Furthermore, the release of the National Museum beep™ cards is just in time
with the National Cooperative Month and the annual observance of the Museums
and Galleries Month, a tradition initiated by the late former President
Corazon Aquino by virtue of Proclamation No. 798 signed in 1991. These
observances are aimed at raising national consciousness and appreciation for
the country’s rich cultural heritage among the Filipino people.
