Sharing here our experience in using the Shop SM Mobile App and why we recommend it.
Since the implementation of the strict lockdown because of the COVID-19
pandemic two years ago, we’ve relied heavily on delivery apps for food and
other home essentials. While we do love the Grab app because of its huge
number of partners in GrabMart, we do admit that you can only buy limited
items in each of its supermarkets and grocery store merchants (we do love
GrabFood though).

However, when we discovered the Shop SM Mobile App, it brought a whole level
of convenience to us when it comes to grocery shopping.
How we started using the Shop SM Mobile App
It all started when we wanted to buy Purefoods Chicken Karaage for Miguel.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find chicken karaage in Robinsons Supermarket and
Ever Supermarket through GrabMart. That’s when I decided to download and try
the Shop SM Mobile App. Suffice it so say that I’m very thankful for deciding
to try it because it’s the closest thing that you can get to in-person
shopping in SM.
The 3 top things that we like in Shop SM Mobile App
Here are the reasons why we love to use the Shop SM Mobile App:
1. It offers a complete shopping experience
If you love online shopping, then you’d definitely enjoy using the Shop SM
Mobile App. It has two main categories, the SM Store and the SM Markets. The
SM Markets is further divided into two subcategories, the SM Hypermarket and
the SM Supermarket.
Under the SM Store, you can find items organized based on those that are on
sale as well as products for Women, Men, Home, Babies & Kids, Toys,
Appliances, Hardware, Beauty, and New Arrivals.
Meanwhile, SM Markets is further subdivided into Promos, DIY/Hardware, Pantry,
Health & Hygiene Essentials, Health & Beauty, Baby & Kids, Home
Care, Beverage, Snacks, Chilled & Dairy Items, Bakery, Frozen Goods, Fresh
Meat & Seafoods, Fresh Produce, Pet Care, International Goods, Only in SM
Markets, Ready To Heat & Eat Items, Ready to Cook, and Home Appliances
& Essentials.
But what we really love is the SM Markets because you can buy practically any
home and kitchen essentials here. We were even able to buy Ramen Nagi in
frozen ready-to-heat packs through the Shop SM Mobile App.
2. You can opt for same-day delivery
Your orders can be delivered within the day but you have to take note that
because of the volume of orders, you have to book your orders preferably in
the morning to be able to meet the early afternoon cut-off time. If you want
early morning delivery, you have to book it the night before. The latest that
SM delivers is 9:00 PM.
3. Payment is convenient
You have the option to pay for your orders via Credit or Debit Card, GCash or
GrabPay, and Cash on Delivery or upon pick-up.
What’s even better is that you can also key in your SM Advantage Card account
number before payment so that you will still earn points for your orders.
In terms of the platform itself, I think it’s robust because of how fluid it
is. The Shop SM App doesn’t hang or close unexpectedly.
The Shop SM Mobile App is available on Android and IOS.
Epilogue
If you are still not comfortable to go out to buy your groceries, then using
the Shop SM App is your next best option. Through this app, you can buy items
from the SM Store as well as groceries, home, and pantry essentials from the
SM Markets. You can have your orders delivered to your home or pick it up from
the nearest SM branch.
