Cheesy avocado ice cream is a delicious, healthy, and an easy-to-make dessert that you can do at home.
Cheesy avocado ice cream flavor is an upgraded version of the typical avocado sherbet. The addition of cheddar cheese chunks provides a depth of flavor,
added creaminess, and a delightful slightly salty taste to this lovely dessert.
How To Make Cheesy Avocado Ice Cream
All about avocado
Avocado is a berry containing a large seed. Most westerners would find avocado in a dessert weird because they typically use it for sauces, dips (think of guacamole), salads, sandwiches,
and other savory dishes.
A bowl of cheesy avocado ice cream |
At most, they add it to smoothies but that’s just
about it. However, for Asians like us Filipinos, avocado is eaten with much
enjoyment as a dessert (fresh and on its own) or as a main ingredient in
desserts such as in ice creams, shakes, cakes, or mixed with milk, some sugar
ice and tapioca pearls.
If it’s your first time to hear about cheesy avocado ice cream, I urge you to
give this a try because it’s really good.
What’s more, making it to ice cream is a great way to consume avocadoes and benefit from its many health advantages.
It’s rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, dietary fiber, pantothenic acid for energy, folate, minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium,
and zinc, to name a few; Vitamins A, B6, C, D, E, K; and lutein.
So, you see,
avocado is a superfood. What’s good about it though is that you do not have to force yourself to eat it because it tastes pleasing.
Cheesy avocado ice cream recipe instructions
To make cheesy avocado ice cream, you need to prepare the following
ingredients:
- Three ripe avocadoes
- 165 grams Eden cheese (BUY IT HERE)
- 2 cartons Nestle all-purpose cream (BUY IT HERE)
- 1 can of Liberty or Alaska condensed milk (BUY IT HERE)
That’s it, just four ingredients.
These are what you'll need |
For the kitchen tools, prepare a mixing bowl, a blender, a hand beater, a spoon or ladle, and a container for your ice cream. If you have an ice cream churn,
feel free to use it as it yields smoother results. If you do not have one,
then don’t worry. Your cheesy avocado ice cream will come out just fine.
Cheese chunks and avocado |
Start by scooping out the meat of the three avocado fruits. Put the avocado meat in a blender together with a carton of all-purpose cream, and about a
handful of cheese chunks. Blitz this in a blender until smooth.
Lightly-beaten all-purpose cream |
In a mixing bowl, beat the remaining carton of all-purpose cream until it has become slightly foamy on top. It does not need to rise or be fully aerated,
you just need some air so that your ice cream would be yielding and not too hard when frozen.
Folding in the mixture |
In the same mixing bowl, fold in the blitzed avocado, cream, and cheese mixture. Combine everything together until you have an even light green color.
At this point, you can already sweeten it with the condensed milk. Add enough of it to suit your taste. Lastly, add in generous chunks of cheese.
Freeze in a container |
When you are satisfied with the taste, transfer to a container of your choice
and freeze in the refrigerator for about four hours or until your ice cream
has solidified yet still yielding.
You can serve it on its own in a bowl or sugar cone or you may opt to top it on French toast, cake, or warm brownie.

Epilogue
Cheesy avocado ice cream tastes good with its delicious flavor combinations.
Aside from that, it’s healthy because of the high-nutrient and vitamin content of avocado.
It may not always sound appealing to other people, especially who are used to
adding avocado in savory dishes, but it is definitely a dessert that is
satisfying to the palate.
