Veger Power Banks Review: My Reliable Partner For Powering Up My Travel Gadgets
Searching for a reliable power bank brand for my travel gadgets
For the longest time, I have
been searching for a reliable power bank brand that can keep up with my needs.
On a daily basis, I use my
smartphone heavily for updating my social media channels and for keeping in
touch with my family, thus a power bank is a must so that I can power up my
phone whenever and wherever I need to. When I am outside, I also bring my old
but trusty digital compact camera so that I can take high-quality snapshots. A good
power bank with long-lasting power is a definite necessity when my gadgets run
low on batteries.
Veger VP-1015 |
I own several power banks but,
admittedly, the biggest issue for me is the ability to pack power that lasts
until the end of the day as well as durability. I have some power bank brands
that drain only after a few uses. Some pack good power but are already dead
after just a few months or even weeks. My current most reliable charger is
actually one that was given to me by a bank as a gift from last Christmas. It's not something that I like to bring around and show to my friends though because I find the bank's branding a bit off.
My personal experience with Veger power banks
When I recently received a package from Veger, I was more than excited to try the power banks and see how they measure up to my daily usage. I hope to also be able to finally say that I have finally found the power bank brand that I can stick to for the long-term.
The three Veger power bank variants that I got were the following: the VP-1015 (10,000 mAh capacity), VP-1048 (10,000 mAh
capacity), and VP-0506 (5,000 mAh capacity). After opening the individual
packages, l was quite impressed with how well-designed the power banks were.
They looked well-built, sleek, and absolutely presentable.
USB ports |
Aside from dimension, weight, material, and power
capacity, the main difference between the three chargers is the number of
ports.
The Veger VP-1048 and VP-0506 models
both have three ports located at the topmost portion of the units. One is an
incoming micro-USB port for charging the unit, and two outgoing ports that can
be used for charging two devices (like a phone or tablet) simultaneously.
The Veger VP-1015 model, on the other hand,
has four ports: two (2) incoming (lightning cable and micro-USB) charging ports
and two (2) outgoing ports.
Veger VP-1048 package |
Aside from the actual chargers, each
package comes with one (1) Micro USB cable, one (1) iPhone adapter, a user
manual, and a warranty card. The Veger VP-1048 and VP-0506 chargers can accept power from a source of up
to 18.5W while the VP-1015 can accept a power of up to 37W.
I tested each unit and I could
say that the products met my expectations based, of course, on the capacity of
each charger. I charged the units to their full capacity before testing each
one. By the way, another thing that I liked about Veger power banks is that they
charge fast. I charged them upon waking up at 5:00 AM and were ready by the
time we left for work before 8:00 AM.
On my first day of testing, I
tried out the Veger VP-1048 10,000 mAh variant. I used it solely for charging my
phone throughout the day at the office. I charged my phone thrice and had about
13 percent by the time I got home. My wife used the remaining power to charge
her phone and it gave her about 80% power.
Putting the Veger VP-1048 to the test |
What’s also good about the
VP-1048 charger is that it is equipped with a LED indicator so that you can
check the level of power that it still has. This is actually my favorite model because it is small, it felt solid and substantial, and it looked like it can
withstand a few drops here and there.

On my second day, I brought
the Veger VP-0506 5,000 mAh variant with me. I really like the design of this charger
– it was slim and had a matte and rubbery finish that added a bit of a grip to
it. Having only half the capacity of my first test unit, it was understandable
that it did not perform quite as well. I was only able to fully charge my phone
once during the morning and about 60% in the early afternoon. By mid-afternoon,
the battery pack already needed a top-up. Well, having a 5,000 mAh capacity, I did not really expect too much from it.

Meanwhile, the last unit that
I tested was the Veger VP-1015 10,000 mAh variant. Among the three units, this is the
biggest in terms of dimensions and also the heaviest because it is an all-metal
device. Having a 10,000 mAh capacity, its performance is almost the same as
that of the VP-1048 variant. I used it solely for charging my phone for the entire
day and it performed pretty well. Since this portable charger is quite heavy, I would suggest using this, say, in the office or when you are taking a leisurely stroll in the mall.

All Veger power banks are built

- Overcurrent Protection
- Overvoltage Protection
- Temperature Protection
- Short Circuit Protection
- Input anti-reverse Protection

The verdict
All in all, I was extremely
satisfied with the performance of my Veger power banks. They held up to my
expectations really well and I am confident that they would not disappoint me
in our future family travels.
Among the three variants that
I have, I would recommend the VP-1048 10,000 mAh for everyday usage or even if
you are outside for an extended period of time. It is small enough to slip in
your pocket, it is light, it fits in your palm, and it will not disappoint you
in terms of performance.
Veger power banks are my reliable travel companions |
If you are staying at home or
in the office, you might also want to consider the Veger VP-1015 10,000 mAh or
the lightweight Veger VP-0506 5,000 mAh pack.
I know it is too early to tell
but I think Veger is the perfect brand that marries affordability, reliability,
and durability. I will update this post to provide you feedback on Veger’s sturdiness.
