A Tradition of Celebrations at Circles Event Café, Makati Shangri-La
For the past several years, it has become a tradition for us to go to
Circles Event Cafe if we want to hold a special get-together with our love
ones.
Family celebration at Circles Event Cafe |
This restaurant has witnessed several birthdays and anniversaries,
and it was also here where Khris and I had our first breakfast as a married
couple.
What we like about Circles Event Cafe
There are so many things to love about Circles such as the homey atmosphere,
the friendly staff and, of course, the great selection of cuisine.
The ambiance
Despite being in a five-star hotel, Circles Event Cafe has a warm and welcoming ambiance. It's like a big family
The food
At Circles Event Cafe, the meals are exciting affairs that are worth looking forward to. What we like most is the extensive selection of food.
Steak at the carving station |
We would start by getting prawns, mussels, and crabs at the cold section,
and would have these cooked in garlic and butter.
Fresh sashimi |
Of late, however, crabs have been absent so it might disappoint those who love this tasty crustacean. As for us, we are content with the large prawns and plump mussels.
The carving station is another corner that we do not fail to miss. A slab of
juicy, medium-rare beef, smothered with gravy or red wine sauce, plus a siding
of tasty potatoes, vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding is always a winning
combination.
For me though, a plateful of steak is not enough so a second helping of this
meaty goodness is certainly in order.
What we also keep coming back to are the fresh slices of tuna and salmon
sashimi, as well as rolls of California Maki, are also perpetually present.
These dishes never disappoint because quality and taste are top-notch at all
times.
Bread station |
Aside from these, there are a lot of other dishes, ranging from local to international, that cater to a broad range of palates.
Kebab station |
With the many selections, it would be difficult to sample everything though. Moderation is key for those who are on a mission to sample all dishes.
Desserts
The dessert station is no doubt another favorite among patrons. Something light? Why not opt for chunks of fresh fruits in season?
Cakes and pudding |
But if you want to indulge, there are cakes and pastries like Tres Leches cake, vanilla pudding with butter, and tiramisu, to name a few. For a cool treat, there is halo-halo, ice cream, and frozen yogurt.
Coffee and tea
Alcoholic drinks, fruit juices, and iced tea are billed separately. However, tea and coffee are free. For hot tea, you may choose to get green tea or black coffee. For black coffee, you can request cream and sugar or artificial sweetener at no extra charge.
Epilogue
A visit to Circles is always a treasured moment for us. Nothing can be better than a good conversation with loved ones over great food. We will definitely keep coming back to Circles whenever we have the chance.
