Le Soleil de Boracay's Beach Cafe: Savoring a Delicious Filipino-themed Dinner Buffet
Le Soleil de Boracay is one of the very first hotel-resorts in the island. Even so, we have not yet tried staying in one of its rooms although we are considering it for our future family trips to Boracay. What we have tried was the food at Beach Café, Le Soleil de Boracay's signature restaurant.
Our experience at Le Soleil de Boracay's Beach Café
Khris and I went to Beach Café during the second time that we were at Boracay. We really had no plans on where to eat that evening. We were just walking idly from Station 3 to Station 2, looking at the rows of restaurants and keeping our eyes peeled for what may catch our fancy.
We went inside several familiar restaurants but we were not convinced with the food that they served. The food consisted of pieces of meat swimming in greasy sauces and looked like it was prepared several hours before.

After some time, we passed by Le Soleil de Boracay and saw that there was dinner buffet on offer. We were not really craving anything in particular but when we saw the baked mussels, lechon kawali, and the pork adobo, we knew we came to the right place.
What we also liked about the place was that there were not too many diners that evening. We got a table near the entrance and it was a good location because it was quiet and we were away from all the other guests.
Beach Café had a homey ambiance with its soft lights and wooden chairs and tables. The big doors were open, thus, letting the gentle evening breeze inside. The restaurant was inviting, it was not intimidating or overwhelming at all.

The dinner buffet consisted mostly of Filipino dishes. There is a soup and salad station for those who would like to begin with starters. The salad consisted of greens, tomatoes, onions, eggs, carrots, olives, and two choices of dressing - thousand island and Asian. I think the soup of the night was mushroom soup. Meanwhile, the dessert station is a spread of Filipino rice cakes and fresh slices of fruits.

As for the mains, there is pork, chicken, fish and seafood, and vegetables served in heated serving dishes so that they won’t go cold.
What stood out for me though was the pork adobo, prepared the good, old-fashioned Filipino way. I had to get several servings of the adobo because it was delicious. I also liked the crunchy lechon kawali. The skin was perfectly crispy and salty, and the meat was tender and flavorful.
What I also liked was the cheesy baked mussels. This seems to be the most favorite food that night because it was always gone in an instant. Nonetheless, the tray for the baked mussels was readily replenished.
At some point, we even requested one server to alert us once the mussels were served and he brought us a plateful instead.
Price and verdict
Another strong point of Le Soleil de Boracay’s dinner buffet is its price. At around Php500 per head, it was already a good price considering the flavour and the quantity of the food that the restaurant served.
Thus, it was easy to recommend Le Soleil de Boracay’s Beach Café for those who are looking for good food, and a comfortable place to eat at in Station 2. We thought it was one of the best restaurants in Boracay -- the empty containers were quickly replenished, the servers were commendable, and the price was affordable.
We were so full after our dinner that we decided to have a brief stroll along the beach again before heading back to our hotel.

Boracay, Lovelier the Second Time Around
This trip to Boracay was a very spur-of-the-moment decision. While Khris and I would always have travel plans for my birthday, we didn't make any arrangement that time because of the inclement weather. However, on a quick whim, we decided to still push through with our weekend trip. It was Friday and already close to midnight but, even so, we were hoping to work something out.

We chose Boracay since it was the most convenient destination; it was just my second trip to the island anyway. Unfortunately, airfare was insanely high and all flights were soon fully-booked so we had to postpone our plans until the next weekend.
All things set and with ample time to prepare, we made it to Boracay just in time for the Halloween celebration. Boracay is as beautiful as the first time I set foot on its powder-fine sand. The party vibe was very palpable because everyone was excited for the forthcoming night of trick-or-treating.

As for us, we were contented with spending our days lazily. From Station 2, we walked along the beach barefoot, feeling the fineness of the Boracay sand, and headed towards Station 1. When we reached Willy's Rock, we took several photographs of the aquamarine water before excitedly taking a well-deserved dip.

It was also the perfect opportunity to put our latest toy -- a GoPro Hero 5 -- to the test. It was GoPro's first waterproof camera so I gamely took it with me swimming. The photos came out well; the details were incredibly crisp and the colors were real.
Even the underwater shots and videos were flawless. It would have been the perfect travel camera had battery life been longer. Nonetheless, the GoPro Hero 5 is a great action camera that would definitely be a permanent fixture in our travels.

From Willy's Rock, we then visited Jonah's, one of our favorite restaurants in the island, to grab something light to eat. We ordered pancit, Chori Burgers, isaw and, of course, their famous fruit shakes. As always, it was a meal that we truly enjoyed -- great food with good value for money.

After our meal, we walked all the way to Talipapa in Station 2 to hunt for pasalubong.

With nothing much to do, we decided to roam around, and retrace our old steps during our first trip to this paradise. We briefly took another dip to cool down. By this time, it was already close to sunset. We would never let the sunset pass so we chose a good spot on the shore where we could watch the horizon shift colors as the sun descended.

As we beheld the rich hues of the horizon, we suddenly understood why Boracay was hailed as one of the most beautiful islands of the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Never mind the endless establishments on the beach; Boracay was perfection from any perspective.

Soon after darkness enveloped the island, loud music came booming, signaling the transition to a world of seemingly endless revelry. We are not too fond of parties though so we looked for a less chaotic place where we could enjoy a warm dinner. After dinner, we walked briefly along the shore but we were a little tired from a day of activities so we decided to call it a night shortly after.

Our succeeding days in Boracay were basically a repeat of our first day. We would have wanted to stay longer and witness the Halloween festivities but it was already impossible to file a vacation leave extension.
Nonetheless, it was still an enjoyable quick getaway but we are already looking forward to our succeeding visits to Boracay.

ReplyDeleteGreat experience naman po makapunta dito sa Le Soleil De Boracay's Beach cafe Lalo na isa yung Bora sa dinadayo talaga kahit ng foreigner.Kahit yung food nila panalo po sobrang sulit lalo na 500 per head lang tapos ang sarap pa ng food.
