Flavors Restaurant may be a small restaurant that does not feature an extensive buffet selection but that does mean that it should be overlooked.
Flavors Restaurant in Holiday Inn Makati may not be as grand as other signature hotel restaurants. It is a small restaurant with a
not-so-extensive selection of food. However, this very fact may well be for its advantage because it provides an intimate, somehow more private, dining experience to its guests.
An Intimate Dinner at Holiday Inn Makati's Flavors Restaurant
Our experience at Flavors Restaurant
One of the hotels in Makati that we have frequently been to is Holiday
Inn. We have not yet booked a stay here but we have eaten at the Flavors
Restaurant on several occasions.
Holiday Inn is not as breathtaking as the older hotels within its vicinity. However, this works well for Holiday Inn because it exudes a
more welcoming vibe. It's warm and not intimidating, and it holds its own charm primarily because of its sparkling new facilities.
Numerous promos that are always available, especially in Deal Grocer,
so Holiday Inn is a convenient and practical choice for celebrations and
special gatherings.
As such, when we were planning a Christmas dinner with some of our
colleagues, Flavors Restaurant, immediately came to mind.
Cold cuts |
Located on the sixth floor of the hotel, Flavors Restaurant is a
surprisingly small restaurant; a seeming deviation from other similar outlets. With its limited size, it can host more or less 200 diners only.
Nonetheless, it's still perfect for an intimate dinner with friends, family,
or even business acquaintances.
The interiors are simple and feature a generic layout of tables and chairs.
Despite its small size, there is enough room for people to move around comfortably. It's really a nice restaurant because the decors and the lighting are not too formal.
Flavors Restaurant's buffet food
The buffet spread, as one would imagine, is not as extensive as that of
Circle's Event Cafe
or Holiday Inn Ortigas'
Seven Corners Restaurant
but this is what exactly makes it good for an intimate meal. The choices are
not overwhelming so guests can concentrate on choosing food that suits their
fancy.
There are salad and soup stations for those who fancy starters. There is
also a spread of cold cuts, olives, pickles, and dried tomatoes; perfect for
appetizers.
Pasta station |
If one prefers to skip the rice, there are loaves of bread that can be had with butter or jams. Or pasta, perhaps? There are a variety of sauces to choose from like pesto, Bolognese, and Aglio Olio, just to name a few.
Bread station |
There is also a good choice of seafood, beef, pork, and chicken dishes cooked in various ways. I helped myself to some sticks of pork barbecue and chunks of grilled tanigue.
Grilled meats and fish |
There is a carving station, which is always a plus point because I believe this is the perfect centerpiece of a good buffet spread. The featured meat when we ate at Flavors Restaurant was a roll of pork lechon belly. It was good with its perfectly crisp skin and flavorful, juicy meat. I could not help but come back for seconds.
Lechon belly |
If one is craving Japanese dishes, there are choices of cold Sashimi rolls that are on display. One may also opt for freshly-cooked sukiyaki soup for something to warm the belly.
Japanese food station |
The dessert station offers a satisfying selection of ice cream, pastries,
and local desserts like Leche flan and halo-halo. I particularly loved the warm pudding with vanilla sauce and Leche flan. Again, these are more than enough to indulge one's sweet tooth and cap a nice meal.

Our verdict
All in all, we had a memorable dinner at Flavors Restaurant. One of the
things that you would love in a small restaurant like this is service.
It's always fast and efficient.
Good food and great service always make for an unforgettable meal. Flavors Restaurant should be on everyone's must-visit list. Plus, it's easily accessible because the Holiday Inn is just behind Glorietta 3.
Flavors Restaurant is located at Holiday Inn & Suites, Palm Dr, Ayala Center, Makati, 1224 Metro Manila. For inquiries and reservations, you may call telephone number (02) 7506 8132.

ReplyDeleteThere is a good thing with a buffet that do not have that enormous list of food because you can have a chance to really get the taste of the menu that is offered. You are able to enjoy going back and forth to the buffet table not unlike with really many choices, you will be full before you can have a taste of everything. A good place to visit and have a taste of their pork lechon belly.
