Tagaytay Highlands is beautiful and exclusive but it also offers one of the best venues for a family weekend getaway.
Tagaytay Highlands is probably one of the most recognizable landmarks in
Tagaytay. It’s a premier mixed mountain resort and residential commune which combines leisure and rugged luxury amidst Tagaytay’s chilly air. Tagaytay
Highlands commands a splendid view of Taal Lake as well as the surrounding mountains.

Tagaytay Highlands Family Weekend + Things To Do
Our experience at Tagaytay Highlands
We were invited by my sister-in-law for some light snacks at
Tagaytay Highlands
because it was her daughter’s birthday. Since this was just a day
tour, we decided to spend the previous night at our house in Pueblo del Sol
Subdivision.
Pine trees |
I have been to Tagaytay Highlands on one occasion and that was for a
promotional trip when I was with my previous job. We were launching a promo and a new endorser and we thought that Tagaytay Highlands was the perfect venue to do it.
It left quite a good impression on me because of how beautiful, well-kept, and posh Tagaytay Highlands was. I thought that I would never be able to go back because checking in as well as the use of its facilities were exclusive to members only. I was glad that I had the opportunity to go back to Tagaytay
Highlands again.
Anyway, Christmas was getting near when we went to Tagaytay Highlands again so
the air was extra cold and the morning fog was exceptionally dense.
Nonetheless, a weekend in Tagaytay was always a welcome treat. Everything in
Tagaytay just seems idyllic.
Greeneries |
Even with the huge influx of tourists on weekends, it was still relatively
relaxed and slow-paced as compared to staying in Metro Manila.
From Pueblo del Sol, we went to Tagaytay Highlands on a Sunday morning. We had
a heavy breakfast so we just bought food and snacks at the 7-11 convenience
store located at the parking lot of Tagaytay Highlands.
The rented house
We spent lunchtime at the unit (or a house) that my sister-in-law’s family booked for the night at Pinecrest Village. Its western vibe made it the perfect home for Tagaytay’s breezy weather.
Enjoying the views |
It commanded a stunning view of the Tagaytay landscape which meant that you would be looking at an endless horizon of vast greeneries and pine trees. The views were relaxing and I told myself that if I had the money to buy a property here, it would be very well worth it.
Dining area |
Anyway, the amenities in the unit were all designed for comfort. It had
everything to make staying here as relaxing as possible.
View of the dining room |
The living and dining areas had comfortable tables and chairs and the bedroom upstairs had a big bed and large windows that allow its occupants to marvel at the outside view. I felt that it was hard to leave this place and would have been a perfect staycation venue.
Things to do in Tagaytay Highlands
There are many things to do in Tagaytay Highlands if you are a member or a
resident. However, for guests like us that had limited access to the
facilities, here are some of the things that you can do:
1. Swim at the pool
We ate our lunch at the house. After that, we went to the clubhouse so that
the kids could try out the swimming pools.
Swimming pool |
There were adult swimming pools as well as children's swimming pools. As can
be expected, the kids swam as much as they can and enjoyed the slides.
2. Explore the property
While the children were busy frolicking in the pools, we decided to explore the property. We went walking around marveling at the amenities of Tagaytay
Highlands.
|
The entire place was big! Just walking around Tagaytay Highlands was already an adventure itself. Plants were abundant in the gardens which provided shade when going around the resort grounds.
3. Eat snacks by the poolside
At around 3 in the afternoon, we ordered light snacks like nachos, pizza, and pasta from the resort's in-house restaurant. The children were already hungry by this time so they took a break from swimming. After that, they were again immediately at the pool.
We went walking around some more but that was just it. We did not try any activity nor an overnight stay. I heard the rooms were pricey but the views and the amenities were absolutely good.
Epilogue
By late afternoon, we were on our way back to Pueblo del Sol because we were
to head back to Manila that evening.
It was a day well-spent at Tagaytay Highlands and we completely enjoyed the experience of staying in a resort as beautiful as Tagaytay Highlands. We are hopeful that we will have the chance to be back here again.
Tagaytay Highlands is located at 4120 Brgy. Calabuso, Tagaytay City, Cavite. Aside from vacations, Tagaytay Highlands is also a recommended wedding venue in the area.
