Sea Spring Resort Hotel boasts a magnificent view of Batangas Bay. Even so, no matter how inviting the water is, it is not advisable to swim at the beach because you could get hurt from the pounding waves and rocky shore.

How To Maximize Your Overnight Stay with Your Family at Sea Spring Resort Hotel
Do not worry though, there are a host of other enjoyable activities to do at Sea Spring Resort Hotel aside from swimming at the beach to ensure that guests will have a great time here.
Our experience at Sea Spring Resort Hotel
Sea Spring Resort Hotel is the perfect venue for a weekend with your friends or a fun getaway with your family. It is not the best resort on this side of Batangas but it is definitely worth considering because of its affordable room rates, delicious food, and overall breathtaking view of the surroundings. We also liked how peacefully quiet the place was, you could only hear the waves and the strong sea breeze.

We booked an overnight stay here for our team outing in 2015. I had high expectations with this resort primarily because it is located in Mabini, Batangas; one of the more popular beach destinations in the country. I was disappointed at first when I learned that we could not swim on the beach. However, the disappointment soon faded when I learned that there were a lot of activities worth trying at Sea Spring Resort Hotel.
How to go to Sea Spring Resort Hotel
Going there was a quick three-hour drive from Manila via South Luzon Expressway.
To get to the resort, we had to pass by a winding hillside road that gave us a magnificent view of the sea until we reached the last exit of Balagtas, Batangas City. Then drive in the direction going to Mabini, Batangas.
When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the beautiful sight of the deep cerulean sea in front of us and the calming sight of the mountainside behind us. Check-in was a breeze. Actually, we only had to register and we were accompanied by a resort personnel to our room.

We booked a dormitory-style room, which means that we will be staying in one room with several beds. The air-conditioning was not working well, however, but it eventually got cooler early in the morning. The resort personnel were also very kind enough to accommodate our request for extra pillows and mattresses.
The toilets and showers were shared with other guests but thankfully they were clean, well-maintained, and not crowded at all when we stayed there.
Things to do at Sea Spring Resort Hotel
What else to do when you are in a beach resort but cannot swim in the beach plus you only have a night to spend? Well, here are a few of the things that you may want to try at Sea Spring Resort Hotel to maximize the fun and enjoyment of your overnight stay.
1. Try bulalo soup at the restaurant
We were all hungry when we arrived at the resort so the first order of business for the day was to eat lunch. We ordered the usual crispy pata and pakbet but never missed the bulalo, not here or in the whole of Batangas. There is never bad bulalo in Batangas, at least in my experience. For those who are not yet acquainted, bulalo is a soup made of beef bone, corn, cabbage, and peppercorns. It's simple yet flavorful.

The warm bulalo soup was delicious. The bone had a generous chunk of meat and the vegetables and corn were plentiful. Our server was also kind enough to grant our request for three extra bowls of soup. The crispy pata was also a hit. The meat was seasoned well and fried to a crisp. It will surely satisfy any meat lover’s craving.
2. Swim in the pool and enjoy the slide
Slide at the pool |
After lunch, we took a brief rest and then immediately tried the pools. There were three slides of different heights which were a big hit to both kids and adults.
Enjoying the swimming pool at Sea Spring Resort Hotel |
The idea of swimming in a pool when you are at the beach was not too appealing to me, but what else can we do?
3. Never miss the heated pool
The heated pool of sulfur-infused water offered a new experience that I will not let pass. The 37-degree water was apprehending at first but once you get used to it, you will find the experience relaxing. It felt like I was sweating while on the water!
The heated pool |
One of the signs posted beside the pool listed the host of benefits of swimming in heated water – improved circulation, smoother skin, relief of muscle aches, and release of stress. Whatever the benefits are, I found swimming in the heated pool really enjoyable.
4. Go island-hopping and scuba-diving
This area of Batangas Bay is known for its world-class dive sites so if you are into scuba diving, you may inquire for their packages at the resort's administrative office.
Overlooking the sea |
Aside from scuba diving, you might also want to go island hopping to enjoy the beautiful waters and sights around Batangas Bay.
5. Book a massage session at the spa
Yes, the resort has a spa so if you suddenly felt the need for a massage or relaxing treatment, you may book a therapy session at the spa.
Dining at Sea Spring Resort Hotel
There is a restaurant at the resort where guests can buy food. Other than that, we did not notice any nearby supermarket or convenience store. As such, we had all our meals at the resort's in-house restaurant.
Dining at Sea Spring Resort Hotel |
Our accommodation included a free breakfast buffet. It was a managed buffet, thus, it was inevitable that a long queue would form. A bit of patience is needed when getting breakfast. The main entrees were all Filipino food – longganisa, bangus belly, and fried egg. The restaurant also served toast, gyoza, and kimchi for breakfast, a somehow eclectic combination if you ask me. All in all, the food was good and filling but, nonetheless, ordinary as I had expected.
Kiddie swimming pool |
All in all, it was still an enjoyable overnight tour for us. The heated pool and the accommodating staff made up for the lack of activities and beach swimming.
